Going East To Get West

(app. 11:00 Japan time, 07:00 Houston time)  Started this morning a little earlier than normal.  Finished packing, ate breakfast and headed to the airport.  Sat on the plane for 1.5 hrs before we moved the first 6 feet.  Not sure what the delay was.  Got to Tokyo in time to walk from one plane straight to the other.  Layovers kill time but a little break from being crammed onto an airplane would've been nice.  At least we caught our flight.

About 6-7 hours into the second flight now and they're handing out snacks.  Some kind of pizza roll and ice cream, how American.

The kids have been fairly good although Joshua has been pretty fussy and hard-to-please all day.  I suppose the whole thing is a bit much for him, 11 days ago he was still in the orphanage. Lora's funny.  She's figured out how to operate her video monitor but she keeps turning up the volume by accident.  She tries to tell us that it's too loud but because it's so so loud to her she yells it at the top of her lungs.  So, the whole plane knows her earphones are too loud.  They're both sleeping now.

Will be glad to get home.  It'll be sunrise soon.  Will be the second time I've seen the sunrise today.  Actually we left Tokyo at 17:10 on Thursday and will likely be at our house by 15:30 on the same day.  Our flux capacitor is in working order (for those that are a little stumped, we cross the international date line in the way back, we don't actually travel back in time).

(app. 4:30 Houston time)  Made it home about 3:30 local time.  Immigration took a little longer than expected in processing Joshua's paperwork but it was otherwise uneventful.  Shortly after getting here a couple from church dropped off something for dinner (thank you very much).  The kids are playing in the back yard with mam-maw now.  I imagine that shortly after dinner we'll all go to bed.  Long day

Micah
